Statikai vizsgálatok – finished

We study problems related mostly to structural engineering.

One of our main tasks is to examine the role of friction and collisions during the use of technical devices, in order to prepare them for unexpected impacts (e.g. to make them shock-resistant), or to take advantage of these effects if necessary (e.g. in the case of a robot or vehicle moving on a rough terrain).

Another task is to study properties of trusses, such as their rigidities and their sensitivities to slight geometric imperfections. We approach the problem with mathematical means; there is less emphasis on physics compared to branches of discrete mathematics e.g. graph theory, combinatorics, matroid theory and algorithm theory.
