Numerical modelling of city ventilation – running
The main goal of the project is to investigate and model the effect on urban ventilation with the help of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The chosen simulation platform is a general purpose CFD program, the open source C++ based OpenFOAM. With the help of the supercomputer the sensitivity of the model to certain parameters, boundary conditions and numerical methods will be investigated on a validation test case. The test case is an idealized Central-European city model for which
wind tunnel measurements are available.
